West Sussex & West Ham links
I moved to the West Sussex coast last October after spending all of my life in East & North London, it's like a throwback when people made eye contact, said hello and liked to have a chat.

That aside does anyone else reside in this beautiful part of the country and if so, are there any Hammers Networks or supporters clubs in the county as I couldn't find any searching the world wide web thingy?

I live in Oxted after 40+ years of living in London and I love it.

Like you say, took a while to get used to people smiling at you and saying good morning & people in the pubs talk to you.

You need to learn how to think things through.

No surprise people didn't want to talk to them if they're an acquaintance of yours to be honest.

I have an acquaintance who spent nearly two years living in West Sussex. Could not wait to leave the community though said the people were mostly anti social.

After growing up in london and travelling the world. Met the wife and settled in leafy Oxfordshire. When we separated, I needed a new start and found it on coast just outside Worthing. I love it. Hate living in a flat after a great house but I open blinds every morning to see the sea. West Sussex is brilliant. People are excellent.

My son is certainly happy to have grown up here - sure beats Brockley where we were.

I am on the South West edge in Sunnyside just up the hill from the Old Mill pub. I love this spot and the Ashdown Forest is a great place to go to get away from it all and relax.
Chelwood Vachery is my favourite space locally - lie down, look the sky and listen to the stream..

Indeed they aren’t Zico.

They were the best football surface I have ever played on, even made daveyg seem like a good player πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Just a shame the changing facilities were so shit! No showers and no windows, freezing in the winter but only a short drive to the Danehill social club πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Had a Great Aunt from Arundel. Had a massive house set in a couple of acres. Had great childhood summers there.

Remember seeing Duke of Norfolk IX v The Aussies. Bob Willis was playing I think.

Used to love playing football at the Isle of Thorns at Chelwood Gate as the pitches there were without a doubt the best lower League pitches anywhere, like a bowling green. Sadly I think they aren't there anymore.

Just got back from a couple of days in West Sussex walking the Seven Sister's on the South Downs Way.

As North Bank says, everyone is nice and friendly and happy to say hello and have a chat.

Was a pleasure to be amongst such nice English people, and didn't see too many foreigners either.Win/Win.
